Treatment

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the gold standard of psychological therapy as it aims to identify and redefine an individual’s core beliefs which are causing a maladaptive pattern of thoughts and behaviours.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) focuses on reflective practice whereby in collaboration with the therapist, the client identifies their values and uses a mindful approach to accept the thoughts, feelings and behaviours which align with their values.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy designed to help individuals process and recover from traumatic experiences. It involves guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation to facilitate the brain's natural healing process, reducing the emotional impact of distressing memories. EMDR is evidence-based and commonly used to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression.

  • Mindfulness is the deliberate act of focussing on internal thoughts, feelings and sensations as well as our sorroudings. It involves learning to experience stimuli without judgement.
